About the role

An exciting career opportunity exists for a highly motivated & proactive Sous Chef to join the Broadbeach Tavern As a Sous Chef you will be responsible supervising the kitchen in absence of the Head Chef and in busy period and supporting the Head Chef in stock control and other kitchen management activities. You will also be completing mise-en-place, serving meals and washing up and cleaning the kitchen after the preparation and service and for supervising the kitchen in absence of the Head Chef and in busy period. The successful applicant will be confident in their skills, motivated to perform and will need to demonstrate:

  • Experience working in a hands-on bistro style kitchen
  • Uncompromising attitude towards high food quality, present and safety
  • Strong communication skills and a grace under pressure, and
  • Excellent planning skills and the ability to think on your feet

Trade cooking qualifications are essential.

Availability for day, night, and weekend shifts.
