We enable Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to achieve fast, high-resolution digital printing by integrating our technology within their existing systems.

An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Software Engineer whose specialty is GUI design and implementation for embedded system applications within QT libraries.

Memjet is looking for a candidate with an understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and who can apply mature and professional software engineering approaches and techniques to the design, implementation, testing, debugging and support of software. The role would suit an experienced software engineer with at least two years in a senior role.

Main Focus:

  • Initially to head up the development of GUI for Memjet's printhead production line
  • Elicit and document requirements and design a common framework
  • Define the GUI for each of Memjet's individual machines and contribute to and oversee the GUI implementation

Essential experience, skills and attributes:

  • A comprehensive understanding of software development techniques and practices
  • At least 7 years solid software engineering experience using C++ and C under Linux
  • Understanding of GUI design
  • Solid experience with QT
  • Ability to work with and respond quickly to evolving requirements
  • Ability to work independently within a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists
  • A good understanding of revision control concepts and practices, ideally with GIT and SVN
  • Australian citizenship/residency

Well regarded experience, skills and attributes:

  • Experience eliciting interface requirements from users
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience using C#
  • Experience with embedded systems
  • Experience developing effective Software Architectures

Essential education:

Bachelor’s (or higher) Degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent
