Description: 
Reporting to the Operations Interface Manager, this role will be responsible for the design, development & delivery of business improvements across all Aviation Operations baggage projects including innovative product development, infrastructure projects, process & systems improvements, and service enhancements and people change projects. 
 
In addition to the above, you will also be responsible for:
  • Providing the operational project interface across all Aviation Operations facilities projects, including Capital Projects.
  • Leading the documentation of the operational brief and champion the operational requirements for baggage projects.
  • Designing and delivering the operational components of business initiatives and major capital projects from conception through feasibility, schematic, detailed design and through construction, ORAT and post go live.
  • Designing and delivering operational components of baggage REPEX projects
  • Working closely with the Terminal Operations Manager (and team) and Baggage Operations Manager to capture functional requirements for projects.
  • Working with Development Manager, Project Manager, Consultants and project team from initiation through to the delivery. 
  • Leading and working with third parties (i.e. airlines, ground handlers, border agencies, etc.) regarding functional requirements.
  • Managing the day-to-day impact and risk mitigation of construction sites within operational areas.
  • Leading and executing the Operations Readiness, Activation and Transition plan for each project and initiatives and successfully embed into BAU.
  • Defining and managing communication plans and deliver timely and informative communication on projects and initiatives.
  • Champion the Traveller Experience strategy and ensure all designs consider the impact of the traveller experience.
You will be the Operations subject matter expert on the function of all baggage infrastructure & systems and have a good understanding of the following operational areas; check-in, departures, arrivals, baggage rooms, reclaim halls and GSE areas. You pride yourself on stakeholder management skills, and your process improvement skills are second to none.
 
You will have:
  • A degree qualified in Engineering, Business, Commerce or an equivalent tertiary qualification and/or substantial experience within this field minimum 5 years.
  • Experience in airport operations - baggage and security, landside facilities, ground transport operations, airline operations and border agency processes.
  • Process Improvement Methodology e.g. Six Sigma, Kaizen.
  • Delivery of operational readiness programs including process development, trial documentation & processes, people training and change management.
