Our client is a trusted leader in the International Freight Forwarding, end-to-end 3PL Supply Chain, Warehouse and Distribution industry who has an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional as a Business Development Manager.
 
Your primary role is developing new business opportunities and playing a vital role in driving the company to achieve its mission, vision and strategic objectives. You will be well supported by a committed National Sales Manager, fellow BDM’s, and a passionate Melbourne based Operations team.
 
Key accountabilities:
  • Identify, develop, implement, and drive growth of targets new customers
  • Identify areas of opportunity for leverage off existing clients
  • Establish and maintain long-term customer relationships, as well as achieve profitable margin of those new accounts
  • Convey value proposition and coordinate this with the Regional Sales Manager
  • Ensure company policies, procedures and SOP’s are accurate and in line with the company when transitioning of new business
  • Maintain accurate record of all sales activities within CRM
  • Achieve and exceed the set KPI’s
  • Attend regular sales and team meetings and actively participate in discussions
 
Skills/Experience needed for this role:
 
To be successful, you will possess a proven history of (hands-on) in strategic selling, with the ability to identify and generate new business across quality international freight forwarding, general freight and complete supply chain strategic solutions.  Ideally you will have previous exposure to international business dealings with the Americas, China and South East Asian Region.  You will have strong leadership and influencing skills, together with a strong commercial ability to report, analyse and present strategic sales solutions at all levels.
 
What's on offer:
  • Commencing Base Salary $90 - $120K, plus superannuation, plus vehicle allowance of $15K plus Fuel Card & eTag (valued at $6K), eligibility to participate in Sales Incentive Scheme (Negotiable dependant on skills, qualifications & experience).
