The opportunity

We have an opportunity available for an energetic, results-driven, dynamic Business Development Manager focused on the slurry pumps market. You will control, grow and direct sales activities and as a professional ambassador of the Company, you will possess excellent communication skills, be confident in targeting new business and exceed established goals.

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager West, your responsibilities will include:

  • Identification and development of opportunities and relationships with new and existing accounts 
  • Delivery of a total solution including our core products (with main focus on slurry pumps), after sales servicing and spare part packages to your customer group
  • Providing input to planning, product development and implementing marketing strategies
  • Development and execution of detailed sales plans including weekly call cycle planning, territory business plans (including revenue growth by customer and quarter) and joint development plans with key accounts 
  • Development of offers for tender submissions in consultation with key stakeholders
  • Ensuring key sales drivers are fulfilled including number of customer visits, customer facing time, pipeline fill and sales conversion
  • Actively participating in sales meetings including providing meaningful, forward looking updates 
  • Utilisation of Microsoft Dynamics CRM as a reporting and lead generation tool 
  • Working with product management for the provision of market intelligence and competitor insight reporting

What you must have

  • High energy, tenacious attitude and a drive to succeed
  • Expertise in a relevant and related industry to ensure you meet our customers technical and commercial needs
  • Experience in pumping industry, specifically slurry pumps
  • An ability to learn quickly, think on your feet and be flexible
  • An aptitude for technical sales and capital sales
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to express complex solutions in clear language
  • An ability to proactively see the opportunity to upsell, cross sell and sale of value
  • Discipline to manage your own time and travel commitments– this is an autonomous role
  • Be comfortable using a computer including systems for reporting requirements 

What would be nice for you to have (but still apply if you tick off the must have list)

  • Experience utisling a CRM to drive sales planning and lead generation rather than just as a data capture tool
  • Tertiary qualifications in business or engineering
