Pindara Private Hospital is undergoing redevelopment and is currently providing 348 licensed acute care beds and extensive on site facilities including a 24 hour Emergency Department, 22 Operating Theatres including our Day Surgery and Endoscopy Unit, Intensive Care, Coronary Care, Oncology, Maternity and Paediatric units, Rehabilitation and Renal Dialysis, a state of the art Cardiac Catheter Laboratory / Hybrid Theatre, in-house Pharmacy, comprehensive Pathology and X-Ray including Ultrasound, CT scan, MRI and Nuclear Medicine imaging and a number of on-site consulting suites. The campus also includes a 5 level medical specialists suite building.

Casual position available

An opportunity currently exists for a Receptionist to join our Accident & Emergency Department. The successful applicant will be required to work on a casual basis, with varying shifts, including night shifts, covering a 7-day rotating roster.

The Positon
Reporting to the Accident & Emergency Clerical Team Leader, you will provide a comprehensive customer focused administrative service to all aspects of the Emergency Centre. The position works collaboratively as part of a team, sharing roles and responsibilities to meet the needs of the customer. Specifically they will be responsible for (including but not limited to):
Communicating with doctors and clinical staff, as well as external third parties such as QAS, Radiology, Pathology, GP and Specialist Rooms Attending to patient, relative and visitor enquiries Managing incoming and outgoing calls Data entering patient details and updating patient files Raising patient accounts for emergency doctors and taking payments Obtaining informed financial consent and submitting health fund checks Billing third parties such as Department of Veteran Affairs, Workers Compensation and Health funds Conducting financial audits and preparing statistical reports

The Person
We are seeking a self-motivated individual who can demonstrate significant prior clerical experience and a commitment to customer service. The successful applicant will also need to demonstrate:
Extensive medical reception experience and working knowledge of medical terminology Strong Microsoft Office skills and the ability to work across several programs at once Exceptional customer service skills Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively Enjoy working in a busy enviroment

Experience in Medicare and/or health fund patient billing is desirable but not essential

Prior to commencement you will be required to provide a National Police Check at your own expense.
